Takigi O-Noh A mysterious world lit by firelight

The Takigi O-Noh performance is Nara's most traditional event, passed down for over 1,000 years. It occurs annually in the evening on the third Friday and Saturday of May at Kohfukuji Temple (17:30-). This is considered the origin of outdoor Noh in various regions of Japan. The performance is held by firelight, creating a profound air of mystery.Additionally, there is a morning performance (11:00) held at Kasugataisha Shrine.
