January 1- 14

At Yajushiji Temple, the Shusho-e New Year’s ceremony spans 14 days, beginning on January 1. The Kichijo Keka Hoyo, a mass of repentance, is solemnly performed for Kichijoten, the principal deity enshrined at the Temple. Additionally, a painting of Kichijoten from the Nara Period (710–794), recognized as a National Treasure, is revered as the Temple's primary treasure from January 1 to 3.
